A browser-based platform for dietitians connects reference-weight calculations, estimated needs, and optional tube-feeding analysis with a combined chart note.

Harahan, United States, October 12, 2026 /PressCable/ -- NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana: RDCalc is bringing clinical nutrition calculations and documentation into one connected workflow. The browser-based platform allows dietitians to move between reference-weight calculations, estimated nutrition needs, and optional tube-feeding analysis while bringing completed results together in a single chart note.
The platform was cofounded by Rami Abdelhadi, an engineer and software builder, and his wife, Lul Taher, RD, who contributed clinical-review input. Rami began building RDCalc to help with the calculation work involved in clinical nutrition. The aim was to connect related steps and keep their explanations together, so preparing documentation would involve more than collecting separate numerical results.
In the adult workflow, shared measurements such as height and actual body weight carry between calculation sections. Professionals select the methods appropriate to their assessment, with the calculation weights, inputs, and assumptions visible alongside the results. This keeps the basis of an estimate available as they move through the workflow.
For nutrition-support work, an optional tube-feeding section compares an entered regimen with the estimated needs. A professional can bring together the needs estimate and feeding analysis in the same note, or use only the sections relevant to the task.
The combined chart note includes measurements, selected methods, and completed results. Users can review the included calculations before copying the chart note or saving it as a PDF. Blank or incomplete sections are left out, keeping the note focused on the work completed.
Standalone calculators remain available for professionals who need an individual calculation. RDCalc offers free core calculators, while the connected adult workflow is part of Pro.
RDCalc is intended for qualified professionals, who review and adapt outputs to their assessment and facility requirements. It does not replace clinical judgment or function as an electronic health record; patient identifiers and protected health information should not be entered. Product demonstrations use synthetic examples.
A public product demonstration is available at https://rdcalc.co/. The Pro connected adult workflow requires sign-in and can be explored at https://rdcalc.co/calculators/clinical-nutrition-workflow.
