What started as a few honest conversations in 2016 now helps more than 60,000 people figure out where to start.
United States, October 13, 2026 -- Bring up magic mushrooms at a backyard barbecue and you'll hear a dozen different stories. Somebody's uncle in the '70s. A wild festival weekend. A podcast about microdosing. Everybody's heard something. Hardly anybody knows where to actually start.

That's been iMicrodosing's whole thing for ten years. Keep it simple. Tell people the truth. Be there when they have questions.
Turns out a lot of people wanted exactly that. More than 60,000 of them, in fact.
It started with one guy and a lot of conversations
Back in 2016, a U.S. military veteran named George Guidell started sitting down with people one on one. No storefront. No business plan. Just folks who hadn't found what they were looking for elsewhere, and a guy who wanted to figure out what actually helped.
He kept notes. He kept what worked and tossed what didn't. Year after year, those notes turned into a system, and the system turned into a company.
Guidell has since stepped back, and iMicrodosing now runs as an established team with nine appointment-only outreach locations across six states. The approach, though, is pretty much the same one he started with.

Not all shrooms are the same
Here's what surprises most people: "magic mushrooms" isn't just one thing. There are loads of different strains, and they're not all alike. Many belong to Psilocybe cubensis, one of the best-known species of psychedelic mushrooms.
Golden Teacher. APE. Ghost. Iceberg. Phobos. Enigma. Sounds like a lineup of comic book villains, right? They're actually real mushroom varieties, each with its own look and backstory. There's even one called APE4011, developed through 40 generations of refinement involving 11 mushroom lineages. Even the name tells its story.
To keep it all straight, iMicrodosing built a Strain Library covering 14 varieties: where they come from, what makes each one different, and how they're related. For some identified batches, the site also posts lab reports showing what was measured.
And if plain dried mushrooms aren't your thing, there's plenty more to choose from:
The blend names describe what each one is going for. They're not a promise of how you'll feel.

Not sure where to start? Take the quiz
With that many options, it's easy to feel lost. So iMicrodosing put together an online assessment. It asks about your experience, lifestyle and what you're looking for, then immediately gives you a suggested starting dose and potential product recommendations based on your answers. Takes a few minutes, and you get your answer right away.
It's not a doctor's visit, and it doesn't pretend to be. Everybody's different, and things like medications and health still matter. That's why there are real people on the other end if you want to talk it through.
The practical details are spelled out, too. U.S. ground shipping is free, and orders placed by 2 p.m. Pacific ship the same day, Monday through Saturday. Delivery typically takes about three days, and the company replaces packages that do not arrive.
"We didn't invent this. We observed what worked, wrote it down, and built a structure around it. That's the whole practice."
- George Guidell, founder of iMicrodosing

Want to learn first? There's more to explore
There's no shortage of mushroom information online. Finding something worth reading can be harder. That's why iMicrodosing runs two sites devoted to education.
iMicrodosing.org is the deep dive, with the science, the history and the latest research. iMicrodosing.net is the quick version, with short, visual explainers you can get through on a coffee break. And iMicrodosing.com is where you'll find the products, the Strain Library and the assessment.
One more thing, in plain English: psilocybin remains a Schedule I controlled substance under U.S. federal law, and state and local rules vary. iMicrodosing is membership-based and 21+ only, and what's available depends on the laws where you are.
Ten years in, people are talking about mushrooms more than ever. iMicrodosing's goal is the same as it was on day one: cut through the noise and help people find a sensible place to start.
