The Ashland, Ohio, hotel project was approved for both the rural and high unemployment EB-5 set-aside categories. The project, which is being developed by Witness Investment, features one of the top extended stay brands in Home2 Suites by Hilton.
Phoenix, AZ, Arizona, United States, October 15, 2026 /MarketersMEDIA/ -- Green Card Fund, a leading EB-5 regional center operator, is pleased to announce that it has received an I-956F approval from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for a Home2 Suites by Hilton Project in Ashland, Ohio. The project has been approved for both the rural and high unemployment EB-5 set-aside categories.
Green Card Fund, which has a 100% project approval with USCIS, is providing EB-5 investment funds for the project, which is scheduled to be completed in March of 2027. After breaking ground in November of 2025, the project has passed the halfway point of the construction process for the 93-room extended stay hotel.
Project developer and operator Witness Investment will oversee the development and operations of the project. Witness is an experienced hospitality group based out of Chicago that specializes in Hilton, Marriott, IHG and Hyatt assets in the Midwest. The group has more than 40 assets, totaling more than 4,000 rooms in its portfolio.
“We know that USCIS takes a close look at projects that are looking to raise capital through the EB-5 program,” Green Card Fund Co-Founder and Principal Girish Patel said. “Receiving another project approval is validation of the careful process by which we evaluate and then package projects for review by USCIS. We are committed to providing our investors with projects that will meet their immigration requirements and provide a high likelihood of the return of their investment capital.”
Ashland, Ohio, is a town of less than 20,000, but is home to Ashland University and is situated between the major markets of Columbus and Cleveland. Its proximity to Interstate 71 as well as US Highway 20 and State Highway 42.
Home2 Suites by Hilton is an all-suite extended-stay hotel featuring contemporary design and customizable guest rooms. Launched in January of 2009, Home2 Suites was the first new brand introduced by Hilton Worldwide in 20 years. The brand experienced early success and has grown rapidly. “There are not a lot of projects that qualify as both rural and high unemployment,” Green Card Fund Co-Founder and CEO Kyle Walker said. “This gives investors some flexibility, especially with the prospect of retrogression in the rural category potentially on the horizon for Indian and Chinese investors. On top of the flexibility this project provides, investors can also be confident that they are investing in a project, that while not the sexiest project, is fundamentally sound.”
